The Choir meets on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. to practice the hymns and anthems for the weekly worship services. They present special music programs throughout the year.

Highland Women’s Fellowship
The Highland Group meets the second Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. each month for a worship service and interesting varied topics. They offer friendship and support to mothers in their busy lives. Their responsibility is ensuring that the nursery is well staffed and equipped for Sunday mornings. Contact person: Karen Buchwald.
Women’s Missionary Society
Fellowship, worship and study are all parts of the monthly meetings of the Women’s Missionary Society. They meet on the second Friday of each month at 12:00 p.m. for lunch. Each year a new study is followed and contributions are made to mission work. Contact person: Cathy Reid.
Fellowship Luncheons are held three or four times throughout the year, after the church service from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Delicious home cooked food is provided at freewill offering. All members of the congregation and their friends are welcome. Programs range from travelogues and video presentations to speakers. Contact person: Cathy Taylor.
Women of New St. James
The Women’s Advisory Council is composed of an executive and representative from each of the women’s groups. It meets four times a year on the third Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. during the months of January, April, September and November. It organizes and allocates various activities, such as coffee hours, rummage sales, the bazaar, flowers and seasonal decorations for the sanctuary, and lunches for different occasions. Monies raised are used to maintain and equip the kitchen and parlour. Contact person: Eva Goud.
This Group provides baby clothes and other miscellaneous items for mothers and babies at London Pregnancy and Family Support Centre. They also organize funeral receptions for people who are not affiliated with any other group in the church. Contact person: Janet Hines.
The Glengarry group of women meet the first Thursday of each month for lunch and fellowship at the church. Contact person: Ruth Evans.
Activity Day @ NSJ!
This program meets every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is for anyone age 55 or older. Drop in for all or part of the day! No fee but a catered lunch ($8.00 per person) is offered. Activities include cards (euchre, bridge, etc.), shuffleboard, and board games. Please call Joanne MacPherson (519) 434-1127 for more information.
Mission and Social Action
The mandate of the Mission & Social Action committee is to assist, if possible, in any worthwhile projects that could be deemed to be “Mission Oriented”, either locally, nationally, or globally. These projects include Northern Hospitality dinners, refugee assistance, St. Paul’s Daily Bread and Fellowship Lunch programs, the Salvation Army, Knox Teeswater Cropshare Program, and PWS&D for disaster relief. Other requests for assistance are handled on an ad hoc basis. Contact person: Lyn Hill.
The Worship/Music Committee’s purpose is to help create and enrich a worshipful atmosphere in all congregational times of worship, and to foster opportunities for participation in worship within New St. James. The Committee includes the Minister and Director of Music and, with them, nurtures the development and appreciation of the beauty, worth, and purpose of worship in the life of a community of Christ’s Church, including and beyond the Sunday morning, sensitive to the needs and abilities of all age groups. Subcommittees of the Worship Committee are: Worship Service Arrangements (Baptism and Sacraments), Ushers, Greeters, Sanctuary Memorial Fund, Lay Bible readers, and sanctuary decorating. Every Tuesday at 1:00-3:00 pm in the Parlour upstairs. New and experienced crafters most welcome! Bring your knitting, needlepoint, embroidery, crocheting, tatting or whatever you are working on or just show up and learn something new! Don’t have supplies? Not a problem…we have extras.
